| Bio: | My name's Jon, but my friends all call me Gir. I'm a furry and my character's name is Gir Tygrin. He, or is it me, it really doesn't make a difference considering we're the same person, is an anthro Siberian tiger. I'm very active in the Michigan furry community and often organize events and get togethers at both my home and abroad.
I'm a real tinkerer and if something is electronic, or mechanical, or at very least plugs into the wall and makes a whirring noise, I'm probably interested in it. I like doing car modding and a little bit of street racing as well. Also, I'm a fanatic for European cars, in particular Volvo's. I'm not a car snob though, so if its got a motor in it and you want to talk about it feel free to message me!
Aside from working on cars one of my other big hobbies is costuming. I rather enjoy making tails, ears, paws, or anything else I can sew together that involves fur. I've recently started dabbling in fursuit construction as well. I run the MiFur LJ group, the MiFur mailing list, admin for the http://www.michiganfurs.com website, and am the chairman of Furry Connection North.
I also fancy myself somewhat of a story teller. I have many anecdotes about things I’ve done, that have happened to me, or that have happened to my friends that I love to tell. I really enjoy engaging an audience in a tale, and hopefully getting a few laughs while I do it. Some of the most enjoyable times of my life have been spent sitting with a group gathered around me to hear about "The Crazy Englishman and the Baby Vaporizers" or "The Dodge Van and the Green Foam." If you’re curious, feel free to ask, I’m always happy to retell one.
I currently live with two other furries, a Tigerfox named ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) nikvulper and a ferret named gerret_t_ferret. I'm employed as an IT guy doing tech work things and teaching classes from time to time.
